Autumn is here! It’s almost unbelievable to think it’s almost October again, but when I look outside my window, I can see the colours change. Good think I’m not the only one looking forward to the Autumnal season. Bookstagram exploded with fallen leaves, warm colors, sweaters and cozy candles. There are so many things I love about Autumn, that it’s time to share my love-list!

1. Falling leaves
Everything outside is turning pretty again! Many treas are still grean, but the chestnut trees are getting brown and dropping the chestnuts, they are everywhere. I couldn’t resist picking up some and put them in a bowl together with some hazelnut shells and pine cones. Can’t wait till everything turns red, yellow and orange!

2. Candles
I’ve been buying so many candles. I’ve been buying so many tealights in the last few weeks. Especially the vanille-scented ones. I’ve also got some bookish candles from my favourite shops (I will drop a list as well!). I love them so much! My latest hauls were called “Hagrid’s Pumpkin Patch”, “Sweater Weather” and “Forbidden Forest”. They smell of Pumpkin Spice, Fresh Laundry and Pine Cones. Don’t you love these pretty candles? My favourite shops are:
Lettersandlights.nl
Proudbookjunk (use my rep-code “SPARKLES10” for 10% discount!)
Romemadecandles
Abookishflickering
P.S. most of them also sell other lovely goodies!

3. Mushrooms and Forests
Forest walks are the best during Autumn. The trees smell fresher, stronger, more intense. We already talked about the colors of course. And mushrooms everywhere! I always have a gazillion pictures of mushrooms on my phone and camera at the end of the season. They are just so cute and pretty and fascinating in some way. But I love to take long walks, strolling through the fallen leaves.

4. Sweater weather
Finally it’s time to take our favourite sweaters out of the wardrobe again! And yes, we already have ten favourites, but how can we leave that soft and warm sweater at the store, all by itself? It must be lonely without you and it screams “please, take me home with you!” all over the place. Well, we couldn’t help it… (same for hoodies, gloves, scarfs…)

5. Pumpkin Spice Everything
I’ve been counting the days till Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte returned to me. The first (and second, and third, and..) PSL is a fact! It’s a bit different this year, less sweet, more spicy (?), but it’s still good! I never had pumpkin pie before, so I really wanna try that out. I already made pumpkin soup last week (but someone just gave me some lovely secret ingredients, so I’m gonna try this again). Don’t you love pumpkins? Very good as decoration as well, can’t wait for some pumpkin carving.

6. Pepernoten
In The Netherlands we have these tiny cookies called ‘Pepernoten’. They are +/- 1 cm ‘big’, they are round and taste yummy! It’s has a combination of all kind of spices, like ginger/cinnamon/clove/anise… I don’t know exactly actually. We just call it ‘cookie-spices’ haha! And they can also be covered in chocolate, also in all kind of flavours since a few years (think of limoncello, cheesecake, caramel.. everything is possible). When you visit The Netherlands in between September – December, be sure to taste them. They are not for sale in between Januari – beginning of August.

7. Teaparty!
Last but not least, tea.. tea.. tea! I love those days with a blanket, a good book, rain ticking against the windows and a cup of warm tea, brewed with fresh tea leaves. I have sooo many flavours, it’s insane. Almost all of them are from Coffee ‘nd Cookie. They are very kind and all flavours are so original! Be sure to check them out!

These are just a few of the many things I love about Autumn. It’s just such a cozy season and I can’t wait till we’re in the middle of it. But it’s starting and that’s a good beginning. What do you love best about Autumn? Let me know!
